Who we are

SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health (SickKids CCMH) is part of the SickKids continuum of mental health services for children and youth that now extend to our services at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), SickKids TeleLink Mental Health Program, the SickKids CCMH Learning Institute and our on-line resources through AboutKidsHealth. Located at two Toronto sites, SickKids CCMH provides a comprehensive range of early intervention and prevention programs as well as counselling and therapy, outreach, intensive in-home, day treatment and residential services for children, youth and their families (ages 0 to 18).  Across all our services and platforms, locally and provincially, the SickKids mental health enterprise provides over 40,000 clinical contacts annually to improve the mental health of children, youth and families.
From brief to more time-intensive therapies, and with our partners, SickKids is committed to providing high quality, evidence-based care that is easily accessible and customized to the unique needs of every client we serve. Recognizing that timely access to care has been a major focus in the children’s mental health sector, since 2017 SickKids CCMH has reduced wait times across services by 60 per cent and we continue to work toward ongoing improvements in access and intake to all our services. Increasingly, our services are available virtually, enabling clients and families increased convenience in accessing assessment and treatment when appropriate.
SickKids and SickKids CCMH share a unique partnership and vision with the goal of creating a comprehensive academic child and youth mental health continuum of service, providing excellence in integrated, evidence-based clinical care, interprofessional training and community-based research – all with a sole purpose of improving outcomes for children and youth. Our team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, child and family therapists, child and youth workers, occupational therapists and nurses. As an important member of the academic health science community, SickKids CCMH trains up to 100 mental health-care professionals annually. With the integration of 2017 that brought together SickKids and SickKids CCMH, we are linked to our generous donors through the SickKids Foundation. Our sincere thank to our generous donors and their special interest in child and youth mental health.

SickKids CCMH is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), an international, independent, non-profit organization that accredits over 1,600 human and social service organizations. Accreditation through COA signifies that our programs and services are being delivered at the highest possible standard by meeting or exceeding industry best practices to ensure we are providing a high quality of care.
