Dr. Diane Philipp, Acting Medical Director

Dr. Diane Philipp is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and the Acting Medical Director at the SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health. She held a number of administrative positions at the former Hincks-Dellcrest Centre, including site coordinator for undergraduate medical education and site coordinator for postgraduate medical education. She has an area of interest in the infant and preschool population and the transition to parenthood.

Since 2003, Diane has had an ongoing collaboration with the University of Lausanne Department of Psychiatry following a cohort of families as they have transitioned into parenthood. She has co-authored a book on The Lausanne Trilogue Play Paradigm, which is used both for research and for clinical purposes to assess very young families. As well, to address the need for a family therapy approach that suits the very young, Diane developed a manualized, play-based model that focuses on attachment and family systems theories, called Reflective Family Play. She has published several articles and chapters and has been an invited lecturer on these models both locally and internationally.
